Popular Psychiatrist - Carl Jung

In the beginning, Jung was concerned that his visions were predicting the beginning of a psychosis. But on later expression and world events, he believed these were caution him concerning the nearing world conflict, which started in May of 1914. Soon after these worrisome photos, Jung described dealing with a time of serious turmoil and self-reflection, wanting to find a method through the landscape of their own dreams, his fantasies, and their relationship to his living, to his perform, and to political and social activities unfolding throughout Europe. In his autobiography he wrote: "I was surviving in a continuing state of anxiety; frequently I believed as though huge prevents of rock were tumbling down upon me. One thunderstorm used another." **

First we must position Jung's visions into the context of his life at the time. Jung was in a turbulent change; he was leaving the "normal world" of Freud's psychology and impressive out on his own, just starting to enter the forest where there is number path. He was walking in to the as yet not known and into his genuine living, and he then gets the visions.

Next we require to imagine the images and the geography in his vision as the floor of his mind, the landscape of his life at that time. And, subsequent Jung's well-known admonition to "leave your concepts at the entranceway," we will do our most useful to permit the pictures to speak for themselves. If you were to assume being the "huge ton," you are an elemental, effective, unstoppable, natural power that some strong cataclysmic function has generated a shock trend, a spiritual tsunami, moving up out and on the land. The ideological surfaces of convention can not keep back or contain that aroused sea. From an alchemical perspective, the waters reduce Jung's former living therefore a new being, an also more reliable Jung can emerge. Joseph Campbell

For Jung, lots of Freud's constructs concerning the unconscious and desires, the structures that had contained Freudian psychology were collapsing. Today the flooding begins to feel more like Jung's innovative living and all so it contained released, freed from the limits of Freud's psychology--opening the flooding gates of his potential. The seas protect most of the "low-lying places," that could suggest all the normal surface of popular psychology where nothing stands out; the aspects of Jung's life in which he believed he had to set low, evolve, stick to an amount playing subject with Freud were now in chaos.

Jung lived in Switzerland, his home and where, in his desire, the mountains "grew larger and larger to guard our country." The dream's growing hills around Jung's home-land may effectively be expressing that by increasing above the low-lying lands, by ranking out with his own philosophy, that his "birthplace," indicating his life, his credibility, and his innovative potential will be protected. The flood is after the low-lying lands--conformity and the propensity in most of us to deposit our innovative ideas, telling ourselves, "That thought won't ever work. What makes you believe you may make any difference anyhow? We're afraid to go against the world's recognized doctrines, to walk upstream against the existing of common ideas. So we "lay low," maintaining our reliable life in exile in the "low-lying" land. We are scared to "exist," which also way to "stay out."
